Firearms licences - apply today


You are now required to provide medical information verified by a GP for all new firearms, shotgun and explosive licence applications. 

The change is being implemented to enable Kent Police to make informed decisions, which will protect both gun users and the wider public.

To make an application or renew please complete the appropriate form below:

Return to: Firearms Licensing, Kent Police HQ, Sutton Road, Maidstone ME15 9BZ.

Please note that if you wish to dispose of a weapon to the police for destruction, they can only be accepted at the following stations:

  • Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone, Maidstone, Margate, Sittingbourne, Swanley, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Police Station.

Weapons are no longer accepted at Kent Police Headquarters.
